Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26, 2026. Black Friday follows on Friday, November 27, and Cyber Monday is November 30, 2026.

Amazon spreads its holiday sale over more than a week. Early Black Friday deals usually appear around the week before Thanksgiving, the biggest wave lands on Black Friday itself, and a second wave arrives for Cyber Monday. Smaller daily deals keep going through mid-December.

For Christmas delivery, Amazon publishes its shipping cutoffs in early December. Prime members typically have until a few days before December 25 for standard Prime delivery on items sold by Amazon, but marketplace sellers can need much more time, so order gifts from third-party sellers earlier.

What to buy in each week

Week before Thanksgiving: Amazon devices (Echo, Fire TV, Kindle, Ring, Blink) and popular toys often hit their sale price early. If a gift is already at a price you are happy with, buy it: popular toys can sell out before December.

Black Friday weekend: the widest selection of discounts on TVs, headphones, kitchen appliances, robot vacuums and power tools.

Cyber Monday: more electronics, laptops, smart home gear and software, and the return of some Black Friday deals that sold out.

December: stocking stuffers, gift cards and last-minute deals on items that ship fast with Prime.

Holiday returns: why shopping early is low risk

Amazon usually extends its return window for the holidays: most items shipped by Amazon between November 1 and December 31 can be returned until January 31 of the next year. Check the return policy on each product page, because some items and many third-party sellers have their own rules.

That extended window means you can buy a gift on an early deal and still return it if the recipient wants something else.
